WordPress 2.8正式版发布，命名Bake，Matt称这是最新且最好的WordPress版本。WordPress 2.8最大的改善是theme、Widget、categery和整体速度，以及修正了790个Bug。版本以小号手和声乐家Chet Baker命名，表达对他们的致敬。这次更新增加了许多功能和在博客后台管理界面的改变是最明显的。
后台主题管理更方便，在 WordPress 2.8 中，增加一个非常好的主题选择功能，在后台的管理菜单中，你可以进行“Add New Themes”添加主题操作，在添加主题页面，你可以通过关键字搜索你需要的主题，而且还可以使用色彩、列数、宽度等属性进行更详细的过滤，所以，找到一个更合适的主题变的很容易了。改进安装一个新的主题，使网站管理员直接从WordPress的管理界面寻找和安装主题，而不必离开网站到处寻找，很类似旧版中的自动插件安装功能。
在编辑文章时，同时还会显示文章已存在的评论内容，你可以对这些评论直接进行许可通过、垃圾评论、删除和编辑等操作，优化完善的 Widgets 管理，编辑单个文章评论。
除以上新增的功能特性外，还有一些小细节上的完善：
当出现垃圾评论时，WordPress不再要求管理员确认；不会再通知自己的评论；在编辑文章时，你可以按快捷键Control/Command+S 随时保存文章；支持同一页面的多个相册；编辑一个插件的所有文件；不区分大小写就可以登录。
从外观上来说，WordPress 2.8和2.7几乎看不出有什么区别，但一旦你深入体会，就会发现确实有了很多变化。如果你有兴趣的话，还可以到这里查看超过180个更新列表。在WordPress Codex罗列所有已添加到WordPress2.8的修改和补充，新版本可以从WordPress的网站下载。

A desk theme for the IT age complete with wireless mouse, smartphone and even a USB stick. This theme makes great use of a graphical user interface, the coffee cup is an RSS link
Another great theme entitled Coffee Desk. This theme has a truly elegant and beautiful design and makes great use of the desk / journal motif.
A Free wordpress theme with a Canadian motif. Complete with maple leaves, Canadian money and what might be a Canada Goose feather, all this theme is missing is a beaver tail.
Desk Mess is a 2 column theme that is widget ready and comes with Gravatar support. I don’t know that this desk actually qualifies as messy, though. I’ve never been able to see that much of my desk.
This is the pinacle of desk themes for WordPress. This theme is adsense ready, FeedBurner ready, has plugins built in for Twitter, Flickr, Recent Comments, WMD Editor, and Shadowbox.
